Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Group Quality Apprentice to join the Analysis team in Liverpool, UK. You will support the continuous improvement and delivery of the AHK Quality approach in Group Laboratory operations focussed on metals and minerals analysis. This role is offered on a hybrid basis.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Responsibilities
- Assist in the maintenance of ISO 17025 and 9001 accreditations as required at each AHK laboratory.
- Assist in the maintenance of the approved Group Quality, Round Robin, and Proficiency exercise schedule, inc: preparation and distribution of samples and instructions, preparation and distribution of submission sheets, and collection and collating results.
- Assist with the control and administration of internal Quality Control materials in use across the group laboratory network. Including stock maintenance, supply, appropriate use, and the production of replacement stocks for continued compliance.
- Maintenance of equipment, calibration, and other quality records.
- Assist the Group Quality function in the control of a standardised AHK QMS, relevant publications, quality manual, and all supporting documentation.
- Assisting in the continued validation and verification of in-use and new methods by company procedures/policies.
- Attending regular quality-focused meetings and keeping all relevant personnel informed of meeting discussion points and actions.
- Administrative support to the Group Quality Function.
- Undertaking other duties of an appropriate nature in consultation with the Group Quality Coordinator.
Required Competencies
- Awareness of the importance of QMS and relevant ISO guidelines.
- Awareness of accreditation maintenance and the positive business impact this brings.
- Ability to demonstrate literacy and be numerate.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and Google suite of applications.
- Good level of computer literacy.
- High attention to detail with the desire to complete work to a high standard.
- Confident and articulate communicator.
- Ability to prioritise workload.
- Ambitious with a positive mindset.
Qualifications
- A good general education (minimum 4 GCSE’s Grades A-C or 9-5 including Maths, Science and English).
- A basic understanding of Chemistry.
