Group Tax AccountantNorthampton£65,000 - £75,000Are you an ambitious and motivated Tax Accountant looking to make an immediate impact within one of the most exciting industries and organisations around? Aila is partnered with a company that has very ambitious growth plans over the next few years. They’re looking for their first Group Tax Accountant permanently, and you will join in a broad and varied tax role touching all areas.The role:As the Group Tax Accountant, you will develop and maintain a best-in-class tax advisory and compliance service across the group, maximising the tax efficiency of the group’s operations and ensuring compliance with global tax regulations in a varied role.Key Responsibilities:
- Full ownership and management of the group’s corporation tax compliance process
- Proactive delivery of a best-in-class tax advisory service to the business
- Close integration with the broader Finance team to ensure taxes are fully considered throughout key business decisions
- Close collaboration with the Financial Accounting team and external auditors to support accurate external tax reporting
- Full ownership of the R&D tax credit claim process, being the lead contact for our external professional advisors
- Close collaboration with Finance colleagues to ensure R&D tax credits are robustly forecast
- Full ownership of the group’s global withholding tax process and obligations
- Manage the end-to-end process and be the point of contact for the business for all aspects of VAT, both UK and overseas
- Manage regulatory and reporting requirements to mitigate compliance risks and maximise cashflow
- Drive recovery of global VAT to minimise the cost to the group
- Develop robust processes to ensure imports and exports are handled in the most cost-effective and compliant manner
- Engage with non-Finance colleagues to ensure import and export risks and opportunities are promptly identified and addressed
- Proactively identify and assess potential business impacts resulting from upcoming changes to tax legislation
The Ideal Candidate:
- ACA or CTA Qualified Accountant, either looking to make your first move into industry or with 1-2 years’ experience in a varied Tax Accountant role in another organsiation
- Broad technical understanding across the full range of UK Tax
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities and comfortable working with stakeholders of all levels
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritising in an organised and accurate manner within tight deadlines
- Enthusiastic, versatile and able to build, develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues
The Package & Benefits:
- Salary: £65,000 - £75,000
