Hairdresser - Elysium Healthcare : Job Details

Are you an experienced and compassionate Hairdresser looking to move into an industry where you help some of the most vulnerable in society? If so, join Arbury Court, a service providing support and treatment for women who may suffer from mental illness, personality disorder and/or learning disabilities.

You will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and self confidence of our service users through professional and attentive hair care.

Working closely with the Lead Occupational Therapist you will organise and coordinate service users hair appointments, carry out consultations, offer wash and blow dry’s, carry out cutting and styling and undertaking colouring, bleaching and tinting.

With your expertise and knowledge you will offer advice based up on age, hair colour and skin tone.

You will be working to a timetable of sessions which equates to 15 hours a week as per the needs of the service.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing
• Experience of working in a Hairdressing role
• Experience of working with people with mental health issues (desirable)
• GCSE English or equivalent
• GCSE Mathematics or equivalent
• Driving licence (desirable)
• Ability to work flexibly
• A basic understanding of mental health issues
• Knowledge of HABIA Standards
