Head of Business Platforms - SNG (Sovereign Network Group) : Job Details

We have a fantastic opportunity to join Sovereign Network Group (SNG) in this brand new role as Head of Business Platforms. You'll be responsible for overseeing the delivery, continuous improvement, integration, and operational management of strategic business platforms within the SNG.

Based from either Basingstoke or Wembley, you'll combine home and office working to ensure a positive work / life balance. There will be some regular travel to our offices.

The Role

Reporting into the Technology Director, and managing a team of 6 reports, you'll lead the team to architect, implement, manage, and continuously improve platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platforms, Workday and other related technologies to support business transformation objectives and the delivery of SNG's corporate plan.

Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as service owner for all services within remit, with full accountability for service quality and maturity development, working with the service deign and transition team to ensure service changes result in sustainable, financially viable and supportable services delivering a great colleague and customer experience
• As a key member of the CIO Leadership Team, you'll support the realisation of the CIO vision and strategic direction including contributing to the implementation of the CIO strategy and associated initiatives
• Working alongside the Head of Product Engineering, Head of Technical Change Delivery and other change leaders to ensure there is one view of CIO change
• Developing and executing a comprehensive roadmap for business platforms to align to the outcomes of the SNG corporate plan, including the platform integration roadmap
• Providing leadership to solution architects within the business platform teams, ensuring solution designs, roadmaps, blueprints, and documentation are accurate and reflect the overall business platform vision
• Managing key relationships with strategic platform suppliers, (e.g. Microsoft, Workday and other relevant vendors)
• Working closely with business leaders and department heads to understand their needs and translate these into deliverable outcomes, identifying opportunities to leverage and maximise existing investments in platforms, to enhance customer experience, business processes and improve efficiency

What we need from you

You will need previous experience in a similar senior role, with experience of managing Software as a Service (SaaS) Business Platforms, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Workday, 8x8 and Microsoft 365. You'll also need to demonstrate experience of embedding an Adopt not Adapt culture, keeping platform customisation to a minimum. We're also looking for:

• Experience of the full product lifecycle management and developing strategic partnerships
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to combine the requirement to champion a customer-centric approach to product solution design
• Experience in relationship building, influencing and communication
• Creativity and innovation with an ability to cultivate these skills in others
• Experience of delivering results and driving others to achieve at pace
• Expertise in motivating and coaching a high performing team
• Experience of managing a diverse supply chain, including nearshore and offshore delivery teams
• Ability to negotiate the balance of customer centricity and commercial viability of a product
