Role Overview:As Head of Chemistry, you will be responsible for leading a highly motivated and dedicated department, ensuring exceptional teaching and learning outcomes. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of science education at the school and drive improvements across Key Stage 3, 4, and 5. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Chemistry department, fostering a positive and collaborative teaching environment.
• Deliver an inspiring, engaging, and rigorous curriculum for Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 that challenges students and fosters a love for science.
• Provide leadership and guidance to a team of Chemistry teachers, promoting their professional development and ensuring high standards of teaching.
• Monitor and assess student progress, implementing strategies to raise achievement and ensure success for all students.
• Develop and maintain high-quality teaching resources and departmental policies.
• Oversee the organisation and maintenance of science labs, ensuring safety protocols and equipment are well-managed.
• Contribute to the school's broader educational development by collaborating with senior leadership and other departments.
• Foster strong communication and relationships with parents and carers to ensure the success of students.

Who We're Looking For:

• A qualified Chemistry teacher with proven experience teaching at secondary level (Key Stage 3, 4, and 5).
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams or a genuine desire to take on a leadership role.
• A passion for Chemistry and the ability to inspire students and staff alike.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A commitment to improving outcomes for all students, regardless of their background or ability.
