Head of Data Engineering - Robert Half : Job Details

Robert Half are pleased to be partnering exclusively with a business in South Wales to recruit for a newly created Head of Data Engineering to join a business as they begin an exciting digital transformation journey. This is a permanent role, paying up to £85,000 with hybrid working (2 days a week in office based near Cardiff).

The Role

You will be responsible for developing and implementing a robust data engineering strategy that aligns with the IT and Digital Services Strategy, delivering a wide range of projects and building out a Data Engineering team. Key responsibilities include:

• lead and manage the data engineering team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative work environment
• develop and implement a robust data engineering strategy
• oversee the development and implementation of a robust data platform to leverage data and AI initiatives
• champion the adoption of data-driven decision-making across the organisation
• lead on the build of a data community
• foster a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement
• lead the development of a data governance framework

About You

• experience in developing and delivering data strategies
• demonstrable experience in leading and managing data platform development
• in-depth knowledge of data platform technologies including data warehouses, data lakes and data governance tools
• knowledge of optimising data pipelines, pipeline architectures and integrated datasets
• ability to lead and develop a team
