The Role:We are looking for an experienced Head of Data Science to join the business and lead their growing data science team. This is a highly impactful role where you will be responsible for developing data-driven strategies and models that will drive business growth, improve decision-making, and enhance risk management. You'll have the opportunity to work across various teams to identify key data opportunities and take a hands-on approach to both leadership and model development.

Key Responsibilities:* Collaborate with business leaders to identify high-priority data opportunities.* Lead the creation of models that drive business growth, improve risk management, and support key business objectives.* Present actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership and external stakeholders.* Explore and analyze large and diverse data sets to support strategic decisions.* Keep up to date with the latest developments in data science and machine learning, applying new techniques to business needs.* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists to ensure high performance and growth.

What We're Looking For:* Several years of experience in data science or modelling.* Strong technical skills in Python, SQL, and statistical modelling.* Proven experience with machine learning and data analysis techniques.* Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.* Experience managing or mentoring a team.* Experience working for a lending company / financial services sector. * Preference for someone with some experience working in a start-up environment
