Job Description :
We’re looking for a very progressive Head of Engineering to join a scale-up in Wiltshire, who work with libraries, archives, and heritage institutions to digitise the world’s historical and cultural knowledge.Background:
  • Ideally someone well versed across .Net, React, Azure (any AWS would be a bonus).
  • Someone who’s lead and overseen multiple teams.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture.
  • Held a position where you’ve pushed boundaries to improve quality.
  • Accountability, being honest and not being afraid to admit failures.
  • Collaborative working and an excellent communicator.
  • Plenty of solution design, coding and testing.
  • Use of Github Actions for CI/CD, Kubernetes for containers.
What you’ll be doing:We’re looking for someone who brings together strategy, software architecture, and leadership who can be highly autonomous, self-motivated, and organised.You’ll work closely with the department leadership in managing the engineering capability of the business. Take ownership of engineering practices and delivery of solutions. Work closely with the senior leadership from across the business to shape and guide the overarching technology vision and strategy. Line manage a number of individual contributors and leads from multiple engineering disciplines. Managing managers, and working across multiple distributed engineering teams. Work with teams to architect viable solutions that are aligned with the technology vision and strategy, and supporting them in producing and maintaining effective delivery plans. Work closely with wider business stakeholders, especially product managers, to support the discovery process.
