Jewish Blind and Disabled (JBD) is a charity which transforms the lives of Jewish adults who have a physical disability and/or vision impairment through independent living and support. This is provided through specially adapted mobility apartments located in one of 7 unique, supportive developments or within their own home.
Cedar is supporting Jewish Blind and Disabled in their recruitment for a Head of Finance. This is an exciting opportunity to join the organisation and lead the finance team through a period of growth with new projects and developments.
The JBD workforce of 60, is a diverse team of individuals from all faiths and none. What often attracts them to the charity is its strong values that shape the way they work. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a positive attitude and strong self-motivation. You will have extensive knowledge of accounting principles and charity accounting with at least five years of practical accounting experience. Your ability to work efficiently and accurately with figures will be essential, as will your empathy and skill in identifying, investigating, and resolving discrepancies. A proactive and flexible approach to work is essential, and the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
