Head of Finance - Remote - Zenzo Digital : Job Details

Our client is an SME software company that builds and sells products used for enterprise scale projects particularly around Data Migration selling both to Partners and direct to customers. The current Head of Finance is retiring, which has created an opportunity for a new person to come into this role.

This is an exciting time to join as they are in the process of building new products that they will release to market next year. They have also adapted their business model and ways of working to an Agile approach and will Build, Buy and Borrow collaborating with other companies with software plug ins to their core products.

Day to day finance operations are well embedded, but with an opportunity to tweak. Key areas will be to run a small monthly Payroll, work out sales commissions, oversee sales transactions, discounting product sales when appropriate and so on. But the drive for this person will be to work closely with the CEO to advise and support plans for growth. To be a trusted advisor to support and challenge and to bring good commercial acumen and strategic thinking.

The role will include forecasting, board reports and so on. It does not require an extensively experienced candidate but perhaps someone that has been a Finance Controller and looking to step up to a Head of Finance.

Key skills and experience:

• Part of fully qualified Accountant
• Previously worked for smaller businesses of up to 100 so that you are used to a broad role and not overly specialised
• Previous Software House experience and/or Product based business preferred but not essential
• Good strategic thinker with good commercial acumen to support C-Suite with future plans for growth
• A number of years experience overseeing all finance operations, payroll, commissions, and so on.
• A Skilled negotiator
• Able to work and deliver fully remotely. They meet up once per quarter. May be more trips early on to meet and work with CEO. They get together for 1 week with colleagues from US and Europe and an overnight stay for their end of year/Christmas celebration
