Head of Finance

My client is a Local Authority in the Central/Midlands who are looking to appoint an experienced Head of Finance on an interim basis.

About the role:

Based in Central/Midlands (Hybrid):

Leading the Financial Management and Strategy function for the finance service to ensure effective accountancy and financial management services are delivered.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop deliver and evaluate the Council's financial management strategy in accordance with the Councils financial strategies e.g., Finance Strategy, Treasury Management Strategy and Budget Monitoring Policy.
  • Develop and lead on financial projects and change programmes that impact Council wide in order to meet strategic, operational and Council priorities.
  • Maintain and develop accurate financial management systems to support the delivery of effective and accurate financial services in accordance with the requirements of the Financial Management Code.

    • What's on offer:

    • Salary: £600 - £700 per day, inside IR35.

    *negotiable based on experience

    • Contract type: Contract (37hrs a week)
    • Hours: 09:00 -17:30 Monday to Friday

    About you:You will have the following experience:

    Experience & Qualifications required:

    • A CCAB qualification (or equivalent).
    • Significant experience of leadership and operating at a senior management level in a complex organisation.
    • Experience of managing and motivating staff to deliver strong performance.
    • Knowledge of governance and legislation and how they can be applied in a local government environment.
