Head of HR - Education SectorLocation: London (Hybrid - 3 days in the office)Salary: £60,000 - £67,000
Are you an experienced, hands-on HR professional who thrives in a busy, operational environment and loves making an impact! If you've got a solid HR background in the education sector and want to lead a small team while getting involved in the nitty-gritty of daily HR operations, this could be the perfect next step for you.
As the Head of HR, you'll lead the HR function, drive People strategy across the organisation, and have a chance to make your mark in shaping an excellent employee experience. You'll also need to have a solid understanding of payroll processes (think pensions, HMRC, audits) since you'll be overseeing those too.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Recruitment (10%): Lead a solid recruitment process, with minimal hands-on involvement
- Payroll (20%): Oversee the payroll process - it's not your day-to-day, but you'll handle problem-solving and ensure smooth sailing
- Policies (20%): Update and maintain HR policies to keep everything running smoothly
- Complex Casework (20%): Tackle those tricky HR situations with expertise and a calm, balanced approach
- Team Support & Communication (30%): Be there for your team, supporting them with processes and making sure everyone is aligned with People strategy
Who We're Looking For:
- A hands-on HR leader, ideally someone who has worked as Head of HR or Senior HR Manager - someone still keen to get involved in the operational side of HR!
- Ideally, you'll have a background in higher or further education, with experience in smaller organisations where you've had to roll up your sleeves and manage payroll too.
- Solid experience in payroll and data management - you're data-savvy and comfortable with complex data, especially when it comes to payroll and contracts.
- Stability is key - we're looking for someone who's settled in their career and is committed to making a long-term impact.
- If you enjoy getting into the detail and helping your team succeed, you'll fit right in.
The Perks:
- 30 days annual leave + Bank Holidays (plus a birthday day off!)
- Company pension scheme
- Health and wellness benefits including Private Healthcare after probation
- Enhanced Maternity & Paternity pay
- Enhanced Sick Pay
- Staff discounts (because who doesn't love a good deal?)
- Language lessons (because learning is always a win)
