Acuity Care Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Learning and Development to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive learning and development programs for our staff members. This role requires expertise in learning disabilities and autism, strong leadership skills, and the ability to travel across England as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Shape the L&D Strategy: Develop a comprehensive learning strategy aligned with the organisation's goals, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Oversee Program Development: Design and implement advanced training programs tailored to the needs of staff working with individuals with learning disabilities and autism.
  • Leadership of L&D Team: Provide strategic direction and guidance to the L&D team, ensuring high-quality program delivery and team development.
  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis: Assess and identify training gaps, developing targeted strategies to address knowledge and skill deficits.
  • Deliver Core Training Modules: Conduct training on essential topics, including Moving and Handling, Basic Life Support, Medication Administration, and Company Induction.
  • Evaluate Program Effectiveness: Use assessments, feedback, and performance metrics to monitor and enhance training outcomes.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work with internal departments to align training programs with organisational and regulatory needs.
  • Stay Informed on Sector Best Practices: Continuously update training content based on the latest research and trends in learning disabilities and autism care.
  • Manage Compliance and Reporting: Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards and company policies.

Essential Experience

  • Experience working in learning and development with individuals with learning disabilities and autism.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, with strong team management capabilities.
  • Expertise in delivering core training topics, including Moving and Handling, Basic Life Support, and Medication Administration.

Preferred Experience

  • Additional training or certification in Autism Awareness, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), Dysphagia, Epilepsy and Ligature and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications in learning and development, education, social care, or a related field.
  • Additional certifications related to learning disabilities, autism, and team management are highly desirable.
