Job Description :
The CompanyOur client is a fast moving, high risk food manufacturer in the Derby area. A business that is set to go through quite a significant amount of transformation over the coming few years and they are looking for a Head of Operations to help turnaround and take the company through that change along the way. The RoleHelping to ensure an efficient factory operation in order to deliver the production plan within agreed budget and service levels.The Role: •    Supervise the Production Managers - coaching and mentoring is a very large and important part of this opportunity. •    Analysing productivity and optimising staffing and production capacity•    Ensure that all product specifications, and all technical policies and procedures are adhered to •    Investigate process and quality issues to understand root cause and work with other department heads to provide recommendations/solutions to prevent reoccurrence•    Maintain and improve standards throughout the factory•    Delivery of improvements in all performance measures (KPIs)•    Drive continuous improvements initiatives, to enable sustainable improvements in production performance•    Ensure that Tier 1 and 2 meetings are conducted within the standards required and that there is a focus on Continuous Improvement•    Responsible for health and safety•    Impeccable customer relationships both internal and externalThe person•    Proven experience of successfully leading, managing and mentoring a team of permanent and agency staff including performance management, conduct, adherence to company policies and procedures including disciplinary, grievance and attendance issues•    Ability to clearly communicate and build a strong and effective team including presentation skills, coaching, influencing and the ability to deal appropriately with conflict•    Strong planning and organisational skills•    Ability to problem solve and make effective decisions•    Good level of numeracy, able to calculate and report key performance indicators •    Self-motivated and highly resilient•    Ability to deal with colleagues across all levels and functions within the business •    High level of IT skills and implementing new IT systems•    FMCG experience•    Lean Manufacturing experience preferred •    High level of customer service skills•    Experience of a demanding retail or similar customer base desirable•    Food Safety Level 3•    IOSH safety certificatePreferably someone who has worked in a high risk, highly audited environment. SalarySalary £90,000 to £110,000 depending on experience plus benefits.
