Location: Harlow

Hours: Monday to Friday

Salary: £60,00-£75,000

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for an Head of Operations  to join our client’s successful team in Harlow.

Our client is a market leading provider of precision sheet metalwork, fabrications and assemblies. Established in 1975, the company has grown in size and experience. From design through to full production, they are committed to high quality products and service, supplying some of the best-known names in the world, they have  full aerospace accreditation and approval across many industry sectors.

About the role:

This is a key new role in an expanding business for a progressive Head of Operations to challenge convention, bring new ideas and take responsibility for engineering quality and cost on projects for customers across the globe.

Responsibilities:

  • Consolidating and expanding our client’s existing industry presence
  • Develop and execute manufacturing strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing department, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Supporting and developing relationships with existing clients in a range of sectors
  • Working with stakeholders to ensure technical compliance
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients & prospects, working in parallel with other colleagues handling specific technical project related matters as appropriate
  • Reinforcing the company’s reputation as a leader in precision sheet metalwork

What we would like from you:

  • Strong leadership and management abilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent commercial engineering knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in implementing or working with lean principles, quality systems and improvement programs, along with proven skills in people management are essential.
  • Ability to deploy effective, visible measures of performance in all areas.
  • Basic financial understanding, including the calculation of costs and margins
  • Self-organised, time management plus a positive and optimistic outlook
  • PC skills (Microsoft Office and CRM / MRP systems)
