Head of Research & Development - Personal Care - Peterborough

I am working with a leading FMCG business who are looking for an R&D Manager to lead the Research and development initiatives to drive innovation, develop new products and improve existing products.

The ideal candidate would come from a chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or relevant Scientific background with previous experience bringing new personal care products to market from concept to launch and leading teams.

Expected responsibilities

• Strategic leadership and managing business change
• Team leadership, leading, mentoring and developing a high performing R&D team as well as recruiting and retaining talent
• Project Management; designing and leading R&D programmes and projects
• Innovation and Product Development; keeping up to date with industry trends, managing and developing of prototypes, pilot projects and full scale products
• Collaborating with cross functional teams
• Regulatory and compliance, ensuring all R&D/project comply with company and industry standards, regulations and safety standards

Ideal requirements:

• Extensive experience in R&D
• Current of previous R&D leadership experience
• Relevant industry knowledge experience within FMCG, Household or Beauty / Personal Care
• Track record of leading successful R&D products and bringing new products to market.
• Degree educated in chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or relevant subject
