Our Head of Sales will be responsible for driving long-term quality revenue growth to increase the overall value of the HSJ Events & Marketing Solutions business.

Main duties and responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

  • Oversee the performance and development of our Sponsorship Sales Team and Delegate Sales Team, ensuring clear objectives, coaching, and accountability.
  • Foster a high-performance sales culture through coaching and talent development.
  • Set individual and team sales targets to exceed the annual and 3-year sales plan.
  • Plans, authors, and implements the sales strategy for HSJ events and MS.
  • Forecasts sales performance accurately, flagging risks and mitigation.
  • As part of our Events Senior Leadership Team and our HSJ Sales Leadership Team contributes to the overall direction of growth and improvement.
  • Identifies new business opportunities to increase repeat revenues and attract new customers.
  • Builds and maintains strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Consistently measures and tracks effective KPIs.
  • Ensures teams’ client facing activity beats standards and expectations.

You will also need:

  • Experience in leading a B2B events sales team to success with the ability to identify individual development needs.
  • Deep understanding of the B2B Events and Marketing Solutions Landscape.
  • Experience designing sales processes and methods for effective sales productivity.
  • Strong competency in sales planning, consultative selling, closing, account management, new business, as well as other core sales skills.
  • CRM (ideally Salesforce) expertise to effectively analyse and improve performance.
  • Clear and influential communication style, able to provide briefings to senior-level stakeholders and take a consultative approach when selling.
