Elevation Recruitment Group are the retained partner to a highly entrepreneurial, Technology Distribution business in the appointment of a Head of Sales & Marketing. Our client has built up a strong reputation for customer service, quality and delivery across the market and they now deliver revenues in excess of £35 million.
This is a hands-on role managing all sales staff, customer service and marketing that requires agility to achieve a varied task list with a mix of strategy and business development through to tactical execution of specific sales campaigns and calls. You will be directly customer facing utilising direct selling skills to win business, foster relationships and be an influential ambassador for the business.

Role Deliverables
- Responsible for the sales performance of the company and delivery against target for sales KPIs including active customer base, sales and gross profit
- Responsible for the Customer Experience team with an eye on continuous improvement of the customer journey.
- Responsible for a small Marketing team, ensuring are consistently interacting with the wider business objectives.
- Responsible for all elements of people management, coaching and developing, hiring and staffing
- Define and implement a sales strategy and operating plan that ensures every customer and opportunity is actively managed and proactively engaged
- Actively identify new and existing customer segments, particularly those targeted or already receiving a competitive services and build go-to-market propositions to best address the opportunity
- Responsible for the customer allocation process of both new and existing accounts to ensure the best operational performance and execution
- Define and own the new customer account process, liaise with the marketing and other functions to optimise conversion to first and fourth order
- Build relationships with key customers through direct interaction to increase opportunities with those customers in addition to understanding broader market trends and interactions
- Call performance is regularly reviewed with 1:1 conversations and role play training to drive increased sales proficiency
- Ensure effective discount and rebate management across all areas of the business and ensure the commercial performance and validity of each deals
- Ensure multi-channel marketing activity is focused on achieving the company KPIs around new customer lifecycle management, product and brand development and web sales and performance
- Continuously gather customer and market insights to ensure that we meet the evolving needs of our customers, and produce a 'go to market' strategy.

- Proven track record in sales leadership, with responsibility for delivery of large revenue targets.
- Must be from a Distribution-led business, ideally within the IT / Tech sector but other sectors will be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and oversee external vendors
- Broad commercial/ business skills and experience.
- Strong people management and evidenced coaching capability
- Significant experience of managing, motivating and driving sales teams to over achieve.
- Experience of managing and driving change within a business.
- Excellent leadership/communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
- Clear strategic thinking combined with a practical approach and close attention to detail.
- Able to bring a dynamic and passionate approach to the role, and lead by example.
- Knowledge of market and industry trends, competitors and manufactures an advantage
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
