Contract type: Full Time (37.5 hours) - PermanentLocation: University of Huddersfield - London Salary: up to £90,000 per annumStudy Group will deliver a selection of franchised post-graduate and under-graduate courses for the University of Huddersfield (UoH) at a campus in London. Several pathway programmes designed to progress to these courses will also be offered. The campus is designed to attract a diverse international student body looking for the high quality teaching of UoH with strong employability options in London.The Head of School will provide academic and operational leadership to the teams responsible for delivery at the UoH London campus; ensure the quality of delivery is conducted in accordance with the procedures set out in the UoH Handbook of Quality Assurance processes for taught courses; drive enhancements to ensure that student outcomes and experience are exceptional; be responsible for the compliance of all associated legislation and regulations, oversee scholarly activity and research, and liaise with the UoH in respect of all operational, academic management and development matters. ABOUT THE ROLE

• Provide powerful and inspirational leadership across the campus, working collaboratively with the management team, UoH and central Study Group teams
• Articulate and implement the vision to drive forward continuous improvement and enable the campus to achieve the aspirational targets for student outcomes and contractual targets for student progression
• Work closely with the University, Business Development and Student Recruitment teams to implement a strategic approach to the partnership, including developing new joint courses and progression routes of pathway programmes to that maximise recruitment opportunities.
• Contribute to strategic planning of human resources; academic development , enhancement and student support
• Contribute to meetings, forums or projects within the Study Group network.
• Attend and actively contribute to relevant university partnership Boards and committees and work with university colleagues through approved liaison points and report regularly on these through the centre deliberative and management structures
• Identify and report on strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and identify appropriate actions to solve issues to enhance delivery.
• Actively lead the Campus Senior Leadership Team and mentor colleagues
• Maintain high academic standing and lead by example building on publication record and professional engagement.
• Ensure that staff feedback mechanisms are effectively used to motivate all staff to contribute to ensuring the best possible student outcomes and student experience.
• Ensure all persons employed are suitably qualified, trained, honest and experienced and carry out their duties in a professional manner in line with applicable laws and regulations.
• Oversee the allocation of teaching resources, ensuring that teaching and learning activities are planned and delivered within an agreed budget and meet operational margins and agreed workload allocations .
• Recruit academic staff with the appropriate qualifications and experience to comply with accreditation conditions and ensure they have appropriate workload allocation and access to staff development and research opportunities.
• Provide effective performance management of direct reports, including: setting personal objectives and KPIs; regularly reviewing performance of direct reports; and conducting formal performance reviews according to Study Group policy and procedures.

ABOUT YOU

• Doctorate qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Fellowship of AdvanceHE or to be achieved within 12 months of appointment
• Leadership and management training.
• Track record of successful academic leadership and management and ideally experience in an international environment
• Experience of teaching in UK higher education
• Experience of leading innovation and facilitating change
• Experience of teaching international students
• Experience of planning and running complex education courses and programmes
• Experience of partnership working or partnership management in the education sector
• Evidence of output of high quality research publications
