The Role: We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Year Manager to join our client school in Glossop. As a key member of the pastoral team, you will play a pivotal role in providing support, guidance, and leadership to students within a specific year group. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of young people and contribute to their overall wellbeing and success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Acting as the primary point of contact for students, parents, and staff within the designated year group
• Providing pastoral support and guidance to students, including monitoring attendance, behaviour, and academic progress
• Implementing strategies and interventions to promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, and engagement
• Liaising with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to address individual student needs and concerns
• Organising and facilitating year group events, assemblies, and enrichment activities to promote a sense of belonging and community
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to student welfare, progress, and interventions

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a pastoral or student support role within a school setting is essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers
• Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and work effectively under pressure
• A genuine passion for supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of young people
• Resilience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to working with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities
• Relevant qualifications or training in pastoral care, youth work, or a related field (desirable)
