Head of Sterility Assurance and Quality Control (Microbiology)

Reed Scientific is working with a leading global healthcare company and together we are seeking a dynamic leader to head the Sterility Assurance and Quality Control teams in the UK. Reporting to the Quality and Regulatory Director, this role ensures compliance with regulatory and procedural requirements, providing technical expertise and guidance to the aseptic compounding unit. The successful candidate will drive strategic initiatives and lead improvement and regulatory compliance projects within the sterility assurance and quality control departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the site's Contamination Control Strategy and Quality Control plans.
• Manage and maintain Sterility Assurance and Quality Control documents, including SOPs and specifications.
• Stay updated on regulatory developments and industry trends, incorporating best practices into processes.
• Lead and support the quality control and sterility assurance teams, offering guidance and mentorship.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate relevant activities into project plans and timelines.
• Provide expertise in sterility assurance knowledge and practices, contributing to the site's culture.

Skills & Experience:

• Extensive experience within sterility assurance within big Pharma or Healthcare organizations, developing strategies and improving sterility assurance programmes
• Previous experience within Quality Control ideally within a Microbiology environment
• Previous line management experience including managing managers
• Excellent experience within stakeholder management and building both internal and external relationships
