Health & Safety Adviser

Our client is currently seeking a health & safety advisor to join their team and play a pivotal role promoting and enhancing the Health & Safety culture at the school. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional looking to further develop their career in Health & Safety within an educational setting.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Conduct comprehensive audits of school policies, procedures, properties, and facilities to ensure compliance with legislation and readiness for Independent Schools Inspectorate inspections.
• Work closely with external Health & Safety professionals and colleagues across the school to cover all aspects of health and safety compliance, including fire safety, occupational health, construction, safe handling of machinery, and control of hazardous substances.
• Prepare and present papers for the Health & Safety Committee on a termly basis.
• Monitor and oversee all relevant safety documentation and certification to ensure ongoing compliance and safety standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or currently working towards this certification.
• Broad property-related legislative and technical knowledge, particularly in Occupational Health & Safety.
• Proven experience as a Health & Safety lead in a large and complex organisation.
• Strong capability in managing Occupational Health & Safety and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Experience in developing policies, procedures, and health and safety management processes.
