An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled OFTEC accredited Heating Engineer, with a minimum of 4 years’ experience working with oil fired boilers, to join trusted Yorkshire brand, Tate Fuel Oils Ltd.

Tate Fuel Oils Ltd is a Yorkshire-based fuel supplier specialising in heating oil, diesel, lubricants and additives. With nearly 50 years’ experience, we pride ourselves on being the same hard-working, family-run fuel supplier we were back in 1972!

In May 2020, Tate Oil announced the newest division of the family - Tate Heat. Tate Heat offers vital maintenance and installation for oil-based heating systems in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, as well as renewable energy solutions, such as air source heat pumps.

Due to the continued success, we are now recruiting for an OFTEC accredited Heating Engineer.

About the Role:

As part of the talented Tate Heat team, you’ll take pride in your work and go above and beyond for our customers, no matter the size of the job.

Following OFTEC guidelines, you’ll be expected to ensure every oil-based system serviced and/or installed is in full working order.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Oil boiler service and installation
  • Oil tank installation
  • Oil boiler and tank repairs (including emergency)
  • Aga/Rayburn cooker service
  • Renewable energy installation, such as ground source heat pumps, air source heat pump and solar thermal panels

Who are we Looking for?

Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and dedicated to the role and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Successful candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • OFTEC accredited.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience with oil fired boilers.
  • A working knowledge or interest in renewable energy solutions.
  • Previous experience or working knowledge servicing AGA/Rayburn cookers.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Experience dealing with customer queries.
  • Experience handling invoices and processing OFTEC/GrantUK certification documents.
  • Experience with renewable energy is desired but not essential.
