HGV Mechanic/MOT Tester - SDP Recruitment Limited T/A Rustington Recruitment : Job Details

A full time permanent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Mechanic/MOT Tester to join our client’s small team at their depot in Chichester to service and repair their fleet of HGV vehicles.

Their vehicles visit 55,000 households every week and they need to have these vehicles maintained to the highest standards to ensure they can be operated safely and reliably.

They have 2 new 240 KW HGV electric refuse collection vehicles and are looking for the successful applicant to develop and become fully trained in all aspects of electric vehicle maintenance and repair.

They value the continued development of all employees, and encourage the use of new tools and processes whenever appropriate. They will support training to gain new qualifications as required.

Reporting directly to the Workshop Manager, working in a tight knit team where good communications skills and positivity are essential to strive for excellence within the department. Key job areas are general maintenance and servicing, MOT preparation, body repairs and basic fault finding. This is a Monday to Friday post with the opportunity for overtime.

Ideally, we are looking for:

• Previous experience as a Dennis Eagle / Mercedes Benz HGV Technician preferred but not essential.
• Qualified MOT tester (not essential.)
• Willing to learn new skills and product knowledge.
• Problem solver.
• Positive "can do" attitude.
• Team Player.
• Basic level of numeracy and literacy in order to complete work documentation.

Salary: £31,811 - £34,675 (Pay award pending) plus £2,082pa HGV Drivers Premia Payment for holding HGV licence

*37 contracted hours per week Monday to Friday*

If you don’t already hold a Full HGV Licence then training and funding for Cat C licence is available and on completion you will then receive the £2,082 pay increase in salary.
