As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant specialising in Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6), you'll play a crucial role in supporting teaching and learning across the year groups. This is an exciting opportunity to take on additional responsibilities while working closely with pupils, teachers, and the senior leadership team.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching: Delivering planned lessons to whole Pangbourne classes in the absence of the KS2 class teacher.
  • Small Group and 1:1 Support: Providing targeted intervention sessions to boost progress in core subjects such as Maths and English.
  • Curriculum Assistance: Supporting the planning and preparation of lessons with teachers.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, proactive, and experienced in working with KS2 pupils. You'll have a strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and the ability to lead groups and whole-class sessions confidently.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualifications: HLTA status or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience working in a UK primary school, preferably with KS2 pupils. In Pangbourne or the rest of the UK.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organisational, and behavior management skills.
  • Knowledge: A good understanding of safeguarding practices and strategies to support pupils with SEN.
  • Enhanced DBS: An Enhanced DBS check is mandatory for this role.
