Position: Histopathology Biomedical Scientist

Duration: ASAP for 12 weeks

Hours: 09:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday

Location: St Richards Hospital

Band: Band 6 (Open to HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientists, including Band 5)

Pay Rates: £21 - £23 per hour

Pay Mechanism: Direct Engagement

General Duties:

• All aspects of a routine Histopathology laboratory.
• Predominantly focused on microtomy sectioning, with the expectation of cutting 25+ blocks per hour.
• Tasks include handling standard, mega, single, levels, and core sections.

Required Skills & Experience:

• HCPC registration (Biomedical Scientist).
• Experience in Histopathology laboratory practices.
• Strong proficiency in microtomy sectioning.
• Ability to meet production targets (25+ blocks per hour).
• Experience in handling diverse tissue samples, including standard and specialized cuts.

Additional Information:

• Open to candidates from Band 5 or higher with relevant experience in Histopathology.
• Full-time, Monday to Friday (09:00 - 17:00).
