Job Opportunity: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team at a specialist school that provides high-quality, therapeutic, and child-centred education for students aged 11 to 17. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and face Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, along with other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties. Many of our students have experienced significant trauma and adverse childhood experiences.
As an HLTA, you'll play a vital role in supporting these young people. Our approach is trauma and attachment-informed, with a strong emphasis on therapeutic training and support for all staff. We believe in placing the child at the centre of all decision-making, working collaboratively with education and therapy professionals, parents/carers, and local authorities to achieve the best outcomes for our students.
Role Responsibilities
As an HLTA, no two days will be the same. You will be a key figure in the lives of our students, helping to manage complex and challenging behaviours with patience, resilience, and a non-judgmental approach. Your role will involve:
