Working Hours; 08:30 am - 16:00 pm.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have the skills and dedication to support their unique learning journeys? We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant and supportive team.

We are working with a dynamic and inclusive special needs school, dedicated to providing tailored education and care to children with SEMH. We pride ourselves on creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.

Role and Responsibilities: As a HLTA, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and emotional development of our students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting teachers in planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons tailored to the needs of children with SEMH.
  • Leading small group and one-to-one sessions, providing targeted support to help students achieve their learning goals.
  • Implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contributing to their ongoing assessment and review.
  • Managing classroom behavior in line with school policies, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supporting students' social and emotional development, helping them build confidence and resilience.
  • Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each child's education.
  • Preparing and organizing classroom materials and resources.
  • Monitoring and recording students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Supervising students during break times, outings, and extracurricular activities.

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience working with children with SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of the primary school curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
