Job Title: Housing Litigation Lawyer

Location: Uxbridge, London

Salary: £46,512 - £50,574 per annum

Job type: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: 36 Hours per week

Are you a Housing Litigation Lawyer, do you aspire to deliver a top-tier, professional service, managing and advancing allocated litigation cases in full compliance with all relevant legislation and procedural guidelines.

You'll provide expert legal advice to client departments, colleagues, stakeholders, and other parties as appropriate. You will also support the Litigation and Public Protection team, as well as other Legal Services teams, in their day-to-day operations to ensure efficient service delivery.

Your key responsibilities will include handling a diverse caseload, with a primary focus on housing matters within court and tribunal proceedings Areas of work will include:

  • Possession proceedings
  • Anti-social behaviour cases
  • Homelessness challenges and appeals
  • Disrepair claims
  • Environmental protection and statutory nuisance issues
  • Tenancy management and breaches
  • Enforcement actions, debt recovery, and injunctions
  • Advising on relevant legislation and policies

You will be responsible for drafting pleadings, statements of case, and other required documentation. Additionally, you will manage correspondence with other parties and attend court and tribunal hearings, where you will represent clients and present cases effectively.

About You:

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, with rights of audience in County Court proceedings.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex issues clearly, objectively, and professionally.
  • Have a solid understanding of mental capacity in court and tribunal proceedings, along with expertise in civil litigation, housing law, and court procedures.
  • Bring recent experience in handling housing matters and other civil litigation cases.
