Housing Management Worker Birmingham Homeless Prevention 12 Weeks 35 Hours We are recruiting a Housing Management Worker to join a National Housing Charity in Birmingham, providing direct support to tenants, managing tenancies, and ensuring safe and suitable living conditions. THE ROLE As a Housing Management Worker, you will play a key role in supporting tenants to maintain their tenancy and access necessary services. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Directly supporting tenants with tenancy management, including housing benefit claims and liaising with support services.
  • Conducting initial and regular assessments of service users, including risk evaluations, to determine eligibility and service needs.
  • Collaborating with the Nacro Housing Management Team to issue tenancies, facilitate tenancy sign-ups, and ensure tenants understand their obligations.
  • Ordering furniture and goods for properties as needed.
  • Working closely with the Asset Management team to maintain property standards, report repairs promptly, and ensure properties are safe and ready for occupation.
  • Maximising rent collection and adhering to the arrears management policy.
  • Ensuring tenancy obligations are met and maintaining communication with tenants and relevant services.

THE CANDIDATE The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar housing management role, with a proven ability to support tenants effectively.Additional Experience Required:

  • Strong knowledge of housing benefit claims and tenancy management.
  • Experience in conducting risk and needs assessments.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with tenants and support services.
  • Ability to manage rent collection and adhere to arrears policies.
  • Familiarity with property management, including reporting repairs and maintaining standards.

THE CONTRACT

  • 35 Hours Per Week, 09:00 to 17:30
  • 12 Weeks, Temp to Perm
