We are looking for an HR Advisor to join a busy team in Kent on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for permanency. AS a HR advisor its all about supporting managers and employees with high-quality HR advice while helping to create a workplace that’s inclusive, engaging, effective, and safe. The goal? To build a strong culture, support employees, and ensure smooth handling of performance, absence, and employee relations cases.
HR Advisor Responsibility
- Ensuring fair and consistent HR processes—from hiring and onboarding to training, payroll, and well-being.
- Providing guidance and support to employees, managers, and candidates.Using data to plan, measure, and improve people management.
- Offer expert HR guidance to managers to help achieve company goals and values.
- Attend management meetings to provide insights on workforce trends and challenges.
- Use data to track and improve staff performance, engagement, and retention.
- Support managers with disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance issues, encouraging early resolution.
- Provide advice on employment terms, policies, and contracts.
- Guide managers through employee investigations, including disciplinary and grievance cases.
- Ensure all advice follows legal and company policies.
- Help managers prepare for HR meetings and hearings.
- Maintain accurate records and reports for effective tracking.
- Foster good relationships with trade unions and employee representatives.
- Coach and support managers to lead their teams effectively.
- Provide training on HR policies, leadership, and staff development.
- Encourage managers to recognize good performance and address issues early.
- Promote best practices in people management while challenging poor behavior.
- Advise on restructures, job role development, and job descriptions.
- Participate in HR projects, policy development, and job evaluation panels.
- Work collaboratively with teams across the organization.
- Help shape a positive and high-performing HR team culture.

Key Requirements
- HR Experience: Minimum 1-2 years in an HR role, with a focus on ER case management.
- Sector Experience: NHS or public sector HR experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices in a unionised environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with wider HR teams.
- Experience in competency-based interviews, EDI (Equality, Diversity & Inclusion), and HR compliance.
