HR Advisor - Chesterfield
A professional services company in Chesterfield is seeking a full-time HR Advisor to join their team. In this generalist role, you will support a dynamic business poised for further expansion. Working closely with the Chief Operations Officer, you will manage day-to-day HR operations while also contributing to the long-term development of the HR support service.
- Support recruitment efforts, including job board postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and coordination with agencies, while fostering a positive candidate experience.
- Deliver comprehensive inductions for new hires.
- Manage and report on employee absences, ensuring policy compliance, and assisting managers with long-term absences and capability issues, in collaboration with external Occupational Health consultants when necessary.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee relations matters throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Conduct exit interviews to gather valuable feedback.
- Maintain and update HR policy documents.
- Assist with performance management processes.
- Lead recruitment activities, including internal and external job postings, agency management, and participation in interviews and assessments.
- Support the training strategy by researching, organising, and occasionally facilitating relevant courses.
- Offer advice on employment law and HR best practices.
- Manage employee relations (ER) issues, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and redundancies.
- Generate monthly management information (MI) and statistical reports to effectively measure HR contributions, costs, and successes.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of HR experience, ideally with a focus on recruitment.
- Ideally CIPD CIPD-qualified but not essential
- Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and its practical applications.
- Proven experience in managing a comprehensive range of generalist HR processes.
- Ability to influence and coach line managers effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent stakeholder management abilities.
- Must own a car and hold a valid driver’s license, as the role requires regular travel to all four office locations across the East Midlands.
- Proficient in IT, with experience using Microsoft Office packages.
