About the role...

We are looking for a proactive and experienced HR Advisor to join our Poundland Logistics team based at the Springvale Distribution Centre in Bilston, reporting to the People Partner. This on-site role offers the opportunity to provide expert HR support to our distribution teams, helping to improve performance, manage employee relations, and ensure compliance with our policies and best practices. You will play a key role in driving people-focused initiatives, supporting change, and contributing to the overall success of our logistics operation.

Your Impact and Responsibilities…

As an HR Advisor, you will:

  • Support the distribution teams in improving key performance indicators such as absence rates, labour turnover, and succession planning.
  • Provide expert advice on employee relations issues, including grievances, disciplinaries, and absence management.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies while balancing commercial needs and risk considerations.
  • Lead and support change management processes, including TUPE transfers, consultations, and redundancy procedures.
  • Identify skills gaps and contribute to developing and delivering training and development initiatives.
  • Work closely with leadership to coach and mentor management teams, enhancing their capabilities.
  • Manage the recruitment process for hourly-paid colleagues, from interviews to onboarding and payroll coordination.
Skills and Knowledge…
  • CIPD qualified or working towards an equivalent qualification (ideally Level 5 or above).
  • Knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and employee relations, with at least three years of relevant HR experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a solution-focused mindset.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels.
  • Proven organisational skills to manage high-volume workloads while minimising risk and cost.
  • A proactive and collaborative team player with flexibility and a customer-focused approach.
