HR and Payroll Advisor who has experience working with a high-volume outsourced payroll, interpreting and applying HR policies and using People Services/HR Information Systems and MS Office, with excellent knowledge of Excel, is required for a Schools Trust, based in Stanmore, North West London.

This role is known within the organisation as a People Services Advisor.

SALARY: £33,420 - £35,641 per annum + Benefits

LOCATION: Hybrid role - working at least one day from the office inStanmore, North West London (HA7), and the remaining time from home, with travel to other sites as needed

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an HR and Payroll Advisorwho has experience working with a high-volume outsourced payroll, interpreting and applying HR policies and using People Services/HR Information Systems and MS Office, with excellent knowledge of Excel.

As the HR and Payroll Advisor you will join a newly reimagined People Services team as they embark on new initiatives and improvements.

Working as the HR and Payroll Advisor you will provide essential support and administrative services, manage payroll processes, and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure smooth operations across the organisation.

You will contribute to developing policies, enhancing PS systems, and driving service delivery improvements.

DUTIES

Your duties as a HR and Payroll Advisorwill include:

Shared Services Administration & Advisory

  • Manage key PS processes such as contract variations and leaver actions, ensuring timely completion within payroll deadlines
  • Provide first-line PS support and guidance to employees, escalating issues as needed

Policy Development & Service Improvement

  • Contribute to the development of PS policies and procedures, focusing on best practices and employee-centric services
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and implement service delivery improvements, ensuring compliance with PS regulations

People Services Information System

  • Maintain the accuracy of PS data in the People Services Information System, producing insightful management reports and supporting system enhancements

Payroll

  • Process accurate and timely outsourced payroll, working with People Services colleagues, third-party suppliers, and finance teams to ensure seamless operations

Team Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work collaboratively across the People Services team, sharing insights and promoting team development while supporting the adoption of best practices and policy updates

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstratable experience working with a high-volume outsourced payroll, ideally within the education sector or similar
  • Experience in interpreting and applying HR policies, and pay and conditions of service, including signposting, guidance and dealing with queries
  • Experience working with People Services/HR Information systems and MS Office, with excellent knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to produce work to a high standard, with excellent accuracy and attention to detail
