Job Description :

Our well-established and growing client in Quedgeley, Gloucester, a leader in its field is currently recruiting for a HR Assistant to provide administrative support to the People Team. This role will report into the Divisional HR Business Partner and will primarily provide HR administration support for focusing on recruitment, onboarding, learning & development, and the employee life cycle.

Responsibilities:

- Acting as a first point of contact for employee HR related queries, and escalating issues to the Divisional HR Advisor or Divisional HR Business Partner where appropriate

- Supporting payroll with addressing queries and processing employment changes, ensuring that starter/leaver and benefit changes, etc. are captured and reported to the external payroll provider

- Using internal software on a regular basis to input and maintain the HR System, being a superuser, keeping employee files accurate and up to date with the ability to produce reports.

- People administration such as producing; offer, termination and changes to terms and condition letters

- Act as recruitment support with recruiting tasks such as screening CVs, conducting and scheduling interviews, hiring, and assisting with onboarding of new employees by preparing offer letters / contracts & completing pre-employment checks

- Conducting new starter inductions and exit interviews

- Act as a liaison between the People Team and other members of the wider Severn workforce

- Supporting Group People project initiatives as and when required

- Assisting with the preparation and compliance for external audits

- Supporting the implementation and embedding of new processes and procedures

- Schedule and coordinate training sessions, book training courses as required

- Driving employee engagement and culture change, organising team building, social and charity events for the Head Office Gloucester site

- To support with Gloucester site administration activity as and when required

Candidate Attributes:

- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Strong attention to detail

- Enthusiasm for working within a team environment

- Tact and professionalism when it comes to handling confidential information and addressing employee concerns with the ability to work in a discreet way

- Proficiency with technology, and the ability to pick up new software easily

- CIPD Level 3 or equivalent (desirable)

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm (+ early Friday finish @ 2pm!)
