Education Futures are working with a Multi Academy Trust in Amesbury dedicated to fostering a supportive, innovative, and inclusive environment for all of staff and students. We are supporting in their search for a dynamic, experienced HR Business Partner to help drive the Trust’s People Services function. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of effective, people-focused solutions, coaching senior leaders, and implementing best practices in people management across the Trust.
Job Overview:
As the HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for overseeing the HR function across designated areas, managing a small team, and providing expert advice to senior leaders, Headteachers, and Heads of Service. You will ensure the consistent application of the Trust’s policies and manage a range of HR activities, including employee relations casework, payroll, and policy implementation. You will also be responsible for promoting a positive and effective working environment, supporting staff development, and contributing to the continuous improvement of People processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Line Management: Directly manage a small team of HR Advisors, ensuring timely appraisals, training, and personal development.
- HR Support & Advisory: Provide expert HR advice on sensitive employee relations cases (disciplinary, grievance, attendance) and manage case preparation for hearings.
- People Policy Implementation: Support and advise on the implementation of HR policies, ensuring they are embedded across the Trust.
- Payroll & Compliance: Oversee the monthly payroll process and statutory returns such as the School Workforce Census.
- Training & Development: Coordinate and support the development of people-related training interventions.
- External Partnerships: Manage the relationship with external people partners, ensuring accurate case management and reporting.
- Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate HR data and generate reports on key people metrics such as absences and employee turnover.
- Safeguarding & Compliance: Ensure compliance with safeguarding and employment legislation, including OFSTED standards and Safer Recruitment.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- CIPD qualified (Level 5 or equivalent), or willingness to work towards it.
- Full driving license and access to own transport.
- Proven experience in a similar HR management role, including employee relations, change management, and team leadership.
- Strong understanding of employment law, including TUPE and the Equality Act 2010.
- Experience working within education HR or multiple site environments is desirable.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
