HR Manager - Manchester/Hybrid Working - £40,000-£45,000
Role Overview: A Financial Services business in Manchster are seeking a HR Manager. This is a stand-alone role and you'll be responsible for supporting the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to ongoing HR support and offboarding. This includes managing day-to-day employee relations, handling sensitive issues, and ensuring compliance by maintaining HR policies and legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
Onboarding New Employees:
- Improve and maintain the company Recruitment Policy
- Liaise with external recruiters and manage the internal application process
- Assist with the selection process, invite candidates to interviews, and process CVs and application forms
- Manage interview notes, issue offer letters and contracts of employment
- Create new HR files, issue references, and conduct pre-employment vetting
- Onboard employees
- Organise induction programs and manage pension, death-in-service, and employee assistance program (EAP) enrollments
- Set up tasks PMI & length-of-service anniversaries
Ongoing HR Support:
- Address day-to-day employee queries, including contract, salary, holiday, and absence management
- Support performance management, probationary reviews, and annual appraisals
- Manage internal promotions, employee benefits schemes, and flexible working applications
- Update HR policies, employee handbooks, and risk assessments
- Communicate internal HR policies, benefits, and schemes to employees
- Provide study support management and assist with grievance and disciplinary processes
- Administer the HR system (HiBOB) and deliver HR training to employees and line managers
- Stay informed on new HR legislation and assist with HR strategy implementation alongside the Operations Director
Offboarding Employees:
- Process resignations and terminations
- Facilitate handovers on termination dates
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment law
- Experience with HR systems (preferably HiBOB)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism
- Experience with employee benefits, performance management, and onboarding processes
Reports to: Operations Director
