Description
As HR Specialist / HR Business Partner, you will report to the Senior HRBP at the site in Banbury and be responsible for all day-to-day HR operations activities.
The role is generalist in nature embracing all areas of HR including upskilling manager capability, employee relations, engagement, performance and talent management.
- Provide operational business partnering coaching and guidance to managers and associates.
- Coordinate & implement core HR processes in the manufacturing unit including performance management, talent management and engagement.
- Support L&D team in rolling out learning initiatives at the manufacturing unit.
- Partner with Talent and development manager in creation and implementation of people managers upskilling program.
- Work closely with the managers on increasing engagement level in the teams, launching relevant initiatives and projects.
- Provide knowledge / best practice to the teams in managing local labour relations (unions, safety reps, etc.). Work with local managers in coaching them around complex cases on performance management, disciplinaries, grievances, absence and queries around shifts/compensation and benefits, etc.
- Provide guidance and coaching in talent management and succession planning for key roles at the plant to ensure talent development and career progression.
- Actively participate in pillar activity e.g. Safety Pillar.
- Monitor compliance of local HR policies, procedures and documentation with local regulations and proactively flags issues of non-compliance.
This role is offered on a 12-month FTC basis.
There is a need for this person to be highly visible onsite - you will therefore need to be onsite at least 4 days a week, sometimes 5 depending on the meetings/plans.
Profile

- Significant knowledge of HR generalist processes and approach.
- Experience of working in a manufacturing / warehouse environment / FMCG.
- It would be highly advantageous if you had strong experience leading on any initiatives focused on upskilling people managers.
- Experience of managing employee relations cases and absence management.
- Proven experience in stakeholder management.
- Experience of a unionised environment - preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Fully CIPD qualified or HR related degree
- Down to earth with an ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Ability to work autonomously with support from HR Manager of the site.
- Resilient nature, motivated by a challenge and not afraid of difficult situations, someone who can robustly partner managers and different characters.
- Strives to do the right thing (not the easy thing) in all they do.
