Job Title:         Humanities Teacher

Location:         Dibden Park School, Southampton 

Salary:            £30,000 - £41,000 per annum

Hours:             40 hours per week; Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm

Contract:         Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Humanities Teacher to join our close-knit team. 

About the role

As a dynamic and motivated qualified Teacher, you already have a passion for making a difference in the lives of pupils and young people. In this role, you will have every opportunity to live up to this ambition, responding to the needs of each individual as you help them flourish and thrive.

You will plan and deliver engaging learning on a daily basis, developing exciting and innovative methods that stimulate interest and excitement in the classroom. Working as a Teacher with us is not your average teaching role. Our class sizes are small, so you are able to create a nurturing learning environment designed around each individual’s needs, spending quality time with each pupil. You will observe, monitor and assess them, making sure their personal development and wellbeing are as important as the academic curriculum.

  • Participate in Safeguarding and Team Teach training and always be vigilant of the pupils’ well-being and welfare in any interactions with pupils 
  • Responsibility for teaching three disciplines History/Geography/RE
  • Inspire, motivate and challenge pupils in the delivery of the curriculum across the year groups 
  • Take responsibility and be accountable for the academic outcomes of pupils taught 
  • Contribute to the pastoral care of pupils and support their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development 
  • Secondary teaching experience is preferred

Dibden Park School is a brand-new school based in Southampton. Dibden Park School will place 60 students and will cater to students with social and emotional mental health and other complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity to grow and develop with a new staff team in a newly established independent special school.
