Import Clerk - Reed : Job Details

Reed Supply Chain & Procurement have now been instructed to source for an Import Operator for our Chelmsford based Logistics client.

Joining a small team in a period of growth, you will oversee and manage the entire forwarding process.

Duties include:

• Ocean freight and the right candidate must be ambitious, with drive and determination.
• Negotiate and book cargo with shipping lines
• Manage documentation flow. This includes bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices and certificates of origin and licences
• Ship out of gauge/project cargo
• Coordinate the collection/delivery process and manage this until the final destination
• Work in a small team, covering all aspects of the forwarding process
• Book all movement of modes of freight
• Deal with customer enquiries and request for quotations

What I need from you:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in start to finish Import Seafreight Freight Forwarding operations
• Ideally knowledge of Imports from Far East / Asia FCL/LCL
• Knowledge of customs regulations
• Commercially minded
• Exceptional communication skills

As normal with this industry, this is an office based job

Hours; 9.00am - 5.30pm

Holidays; 25 days plus bank holidays

Salary; up to £35k
