Import Coordinator
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (Subject to 6-month probation)
  • Location: Grimsby
  • Salary: £28,500+
  • Hours: 09:00am-17:00pm
  • Holiday: 20 days holiday + Bank Holiday

We are seeking an Import Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of selected reefer accounts. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage customer needs effectively and ensure all operational milestones are met timely.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Ensure timely completion of all required milestones on connect.
  • Meet all customer needs and manage day-to-day operations for customers.
  • Proficient in handling customs entries.
  • Set examples of good working practice and showcase excellent customer service.
  • Liaise with the relevant team leader on all matters relevant to the department/account.
  • Ensure regular filing of completed jobs and monitor the correct profit and loss for the accounts handled.
  • Recognise any changes in customers’ shipping trends and report to the General Manager.
  • Manage invoicing, ensuring that all invoices are raised, and purchase invoices are accrued for correctly and passed on time.
  • Familiarise with the Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P.’s) of all accounts handled.
  • Act as a backup for any team member as necessary, ensuring all issues are communicated to the Team Leader or General Manager.
  • Promote compliance across the department/section and assist with customer queries/complaints.
  • Ensure all emails and correspondence are replied to in a timely manner and provide a complete handover to the team leader in the event of any planned holiday or absence.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in reefer operations or similar roles within logistics.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and remain organized.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in customs entries and understanding of logistics software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex logistics situations.
