You’ll provide support to the Change and Improvement Team with the delivery of a range of improvement and change activity across the business
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting a team of Change and Improvement Partners to deliver a range of change and improvement activity including large-scale organisational and service reviews, continuous improvement activity, including business process improvement reviews and problem-solving initiatives
- Working in line with the organisation’s improvement methodology, with particular focus on data capture, data analysis and investigatory work to provide an independent view of the effectiveness of current practices and processes
- Working with improvement groups and a range of stakeholders across the business, using relevant tools and techniques throughout the improvement lifecycle to support the Change and Improvement Partners with:
- Scoping and diagnosing problems and opportunities
- Detailed data collection and analysis using recognised techniques including observations, quantitative & qualitative research, root cause analysis and using insight and learning to inform and prioritise areas for improvement
- Service and process redesign, including testing activity and co-design of practical, evidence-based changes and solutions Change impact assessment and change readiness to ensure business areas are ready to adopt new systems and processes, mobilise new ways of working and realise the benefits of investment
- Working with the business to ensure changes are embedded and mechanisms are in place to ensure change is adopted as intended
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and learning, contributing to lessons learned and taking a CI mindset to identifying future improvements
- Providing advice and supporting the team with delivering training and coaching on improvement mindset, tools and techniques and change management to colleagues across the business
- Deputise for Change and Improvement Partners as required, taking a lead on certain improvement activity as appropriate, including smaller scale improvement activity, e.g. setting up and running pilots, data collection and producing presentations to display data and share findings
- Supporting the organisation and facilitation of meetings, including taking and circulating accurate minutes and actions
- Acting as the business process management knowledge bank custodian, ensuring documents are appropriately versioned, stored and logged in one place
- Providing wider administration and governance support to the team and improvement related forums across the business as required
What you’ll need
- Experience of working in improvement reviews/initiatives, ideally using a methodology, e.g. Lean Six Sigma, Systems Thinking, to improve service delivery, business performance and solve business problems - with demonstrable results including outcomes and benefits realised
- Natural curiosity, inquisitiveness and an investigative mindset, with the ability to work intensely and fully immerse yourself in complex business problems to build a true picture
- Tenacity and assertiveness to fully get to the heart of issues, identify root causes and ability to think laterally to see the bigger picture
- Proficient use of MS applications including Word and PowerPoint and Advanced knowledge of Excel with proven capability of handling large, complex data sets
- Experience of using a range of analytical techniques, from basic to advanced and understanding the appropriateness of use
- The ability to present data findings and insight in a variety of different ways using visualisation techniques and tailored to different audiences to achieve maximum impact
- First class attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under pressure, deliver to strict deadlines and manage conflicting priorities
- Customer focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work at all levels within the business.
