Independent Domestic Violence Advocate

Are you passionate about supporting women and advocating for survivors of domestic abuse? If so, this temporary role could be your next step!

Position: IDVAHourly Rate: £16 per hourLocation: Hammersmith with travel across targeted boroughsHours: 35 hours per weekContract: 2 Months rolling

About the Role

As a Core IDVA, you will work within a fast-paced and dynamic advocacy and support service, providing high-quality crisis intervention and safety planning to women at high risk of domestic abuse. You will conduct client-led risk and needs assessments, advise on criminal justice and civil remedies, and coordinate multi-agency support.

You will be working across designated boroughs under the guidance of team leaders and the project manager, building strong relationships with partner agencies and services to ensure survivors receive comprehensive support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored advocacy and support to women at high risk of domestic abuse.
  • Deliver informed advice on criminal justice and civil remedies, supporting women to navigate these systems.
  • Coordinate multi-agency support to ensure client needs are met.
  • Work closely with local services, fostering proactive and innovative partnerships.

About You:

  • A strong understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on women and children.
  • Experience in risk management and safety planning for women with complex needs.
  • Experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse, particularly within safeguarding frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills to manage sensitive situations effectively.
