Infrastructure Engineer - Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited : Job Details

Your new companyHAYS are currently working closely with a key Central Government department based in London who are looking to bring in an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join their IT department providing technical expertise to help implement all IT infrastructure projects. The Role:

• Type: Contract (6+ months initially)
• Day Rate: £350 - £450 per day inside IR35
• Location: Central London
• Hybrid working

Previous or current Public Sector experience is highly desired. Your new roleMain responsibilities will include:

• Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level technical support and assistance to end-users by quickly identifying, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and network issues to minimise downtime.
• Design and implement infrastructure automation solutions, driving efficiency and scalability.
• Develop tools to automate infrastructure management, monitoring, and reporting.
• Contribute to enhancing customer experience by improving infrastructure performance and reliability.

What you'll need to succeedThe successful candidate will have the following:

• Have a strong knowledge of Microsoft software, such as SharePoint, Teams and Azure
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc.)
• Proven experience as an IT Infrastructure Engineer or in a similar role, with hands-on experience in infrastructure support and management.
• Proficiency in Linux and/or Windows server administration, including experience with system automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
• Ideally, 3/4+ years experience working within an IT infrastructure capacity
