6 months of NHS experience mandatory

Location: Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Foundation Trust

Ward Areas: Medical & Frailty Escalation Wards

Pay Rates: £21 - £23 per hour

Pay Mechanism: Direct Engagement

Position Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physiotherapist to join our inpatient team on the Medical, Frailty, and Ward-Based Respiratory units. This is a 12-week, full-time role (Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM) aimed at providing essential physiotherapy care for patients with medical, frailty, and respiratory conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide physiotherapy assessment and interventions for patients on the medical and frailty escalation wards.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to manage complex respiratory and frailty cases.
  • Design and implement rehabilitation programs to improve mobility, strength, and overall function.
  • Deliver care for patients with a variety of conditions, including those with medical, respiratory, and frailty needs.
  • Support patients in regaining independence and improving their quality of life.
  • Document treatment plans and progress notes accurately in patient records.
  • Collaborate closely with nursing staff, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic patient care.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in physiotherapy, particularly in relation to medical and frailty conditions.

Key Requirements:

  • HCPC registered Physiotherapist.
  • Experience in inpatient physiotherapy, ideally within medical or frailty-related areas.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and experience with respiratory conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritize effectively.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Working Hours:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
  • 12-week fixed term contract.
