More about Public Sector Audit

Our role as an auditor is to act independently to support trust and integrity in the business. We provide a wide range of public sector bodies across local government, NHS, police, fire and national parks. We audit over 300 public sector bodies including some of the largest councils and NHS bodies in the country. We pride ourselves on the high-level standards and quality we expect from our people.

Skills

  • You’ll have NHS Local Counter Fraud specialist qualification or be Local Authority Trained Fraud Specialist
  • You’ll be CIPFA Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist
  • 10+ years of cases fraud investigation experience in the public and private sectors.
  • Experience of delivering Interviews Under Caution (IUC) and preparing cases for submission to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS)
  • You’ll have managed a fraud case portfolio from simple to complex frauds.
  • Experience of data mining / pattern analysis in big data fraud reviews.
  • It would be highly advantageous to have prior experience of working with a case management system
  • You’ll have knowledge of Delivery of Detection focused fraud projects
  • You’ll be delivery focused, confident in meeting set delivery KPIs and require minimum senior staff support.
  • You’ll have excellent written and verbal communication and reporting skills and be MS Office proficient
  • Role will involve travelling to different Client Sites - 1-2 days per week

Opportunity

Once you join the Agile Talent Community, you’ll be working with Grant Thornton’s Counter Fraud team on a varied portfolio of NHS and private sector clients on an initial 3 months contract with a potential extension. This role does require local on-site presence (London, Norfolk, Midlands or Manchester based) therefore you’ll need to be comfortable with hybrid working model.
