Our Client:This Interim Deputy Director of Finance role is for a leading university located on a picturesque campus in London. The university has established itself as a standout modern institution known for its exceptional research quality and impact. The university has also made significant progress in its strategic aim of diversifying its income and building longer-term sustainability. The need has arisen to recruit an experienced Deputy of Finance during a time of change, for 8 - 11 months.The Role:As the Deputy Director of Finance, you will be working closely with the Director of Finance, in leading the Finance function. The interim Deputy role will play an important part in supporting the ongoing journey of improvement whilst overseeing some key priorities, including:- Developing and embedding improved budgetary control and enhanced management reporting, supported by a newly constituted Financial Planning & Analysis team.- Continuing to support and improve the recently appointed AR team- Provide strategic leadership to, and line management of Financial Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Student Fees/Accounts Receivable, Financial Systems, Tax and insurance- Act as a bridge and key support at a time of change, whilst the new Director of Finance joins and incumbent departingThe Successful Candidate:- Qualified accountant with prior experience in Deputy Director of Finance or Head of Finance roles.- Knowledge of Financial Reporting Standard 102 and the Higher Education SORP or Charity SORP- Confidence in dealing with senior leaders, governance committees, and trustees.- Experience in leading transformational change in teams and systems.- Strong focus on policies, procedures, and controls.- Experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Financial Systems operations.Whats on offer:This position presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Finance professional to make an immediate impact during a period of transformation at a prestigious London university.
