We are working with a School in Middlesex that is looking for an Interim Senior School Administrator to join them in January for a contract role until the Summer break 2025. The role involves managing and updating academic records and achievement data for both students and staff within the school's SIMS system. You will play a key role in ensuring this information is accessible to staff and external bodies, while also supporting the tracking and progress of students. The position requires you to generate accurate reports for various stakeholders, manage examinations in compliance with regulations, and provide ongoing support for student progress monitoring.
Key ResponsibilitiesExam Coordination & Management
- Accurately manage student exam entries and ensure compliance with deadlines.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure smooth management of both internal and external exams throughout the academic year.
- Work with the Inclusion Department to ensure that students receive necessary access arrangements for exams.
- Supervise a team of invigilators, ensuring they follow proper procedures and addressing any incidents that arise during exams.
- Oversee the downloading and distribution of exam results, ensuring accurate communication with stakeholders.
- Manage the process of re-marking requests, ensuring adherence to deadlines and clear communication with Subject Leaders.
Data Systems & Reporting
- Maintain and update SIMS and other data systems regularly to ensure the accuracy and accessibility of student and staff information.
- Support teachers and school leaders by generating regular progress reports in line with the school's assessment timetable.
- Generate targets for student achievement and work closely with the Deputy Headteacher to ensure these are inputted correctly.
- Coordinate the transfer of data to external agencies such as the Local Authority and the Department for Education, including necessary reports such as the termly 'Student Census' and the annual 'Workforce Census'.
- Ensure the school's templates for grades, marksheets, and report formats are maintained and up-to-date.
Admissions Data Management
- Oversee the accurate recording of student transfer data during the transition from primary to secondary school, and when students enter the Sixth Form.
- Ensure all relevant student achievement data is captured, including CATs and reading assessments, and uploaded to the school system.
General Responsibilities
- Provide timely and accurate reporting to teachers, parents, and external bodies, helping to support student development.
- Analyse external exam results and work with the school leadership team to evaluate overall performance.
- Ensure that all data-related processes comply with current Data Protection legislation, maintaining the confidentiality and security of all information.
This is a pivotal role that ensures our school's exam processes and student data management are handled efficiently, supporting both the academic success and operational smoothness of the school year.
To be considered for this role, you will be an experienced Senior Administrator, willing and able to pick up new systems and processes. Ideally, you will have worked in an education setting. However, we can consider candidates who have worked in settings such as NHS, University, Local Authority etc.
