Stanton House is currently recruiting an Interim Financial Controller to join a PE-backed Retail Business in Birmingham on a 6-month Fixed-Term Contract. The role offers £650 - £750 per day Outside IR35. This hybrid role is working 3 days in the office and the rest from home. This role involves overseeing and delivering all internal and external financial reporting requirements. You will lead the financial reporting team, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines and compliance with current standards.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver financial reports including annual, interim, and board reports, statutory accounts, VAT and tax returns and investor schedules.
- Oversee external audits, ensuring seamless coordination and communication on accounting judgments.
- Manage and review balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow forecasting and cash transactions.
- Ensure compliance with reporting standards, maintain robust controls, and assess changes in accounting standards.
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance on reporting and tax-related matters.
- Lead, develop and motivate the Financial and Management Reporting team.
To be suitable for this role you must have the following:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) with 10 years + of finance experience, including recent senior leadership roles.
- Strong expertise in financial reporting, accounting standards and tax compliance.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing finance teams.
- Extensive experience with statutory accounts, annual/interim reports, VAT returns, and corporate tax computations.
- Skilled in managing complex financial structures, including cash flow forecasting and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Familiar with HMRC processes, iXBRL tagging, and regulatory compliance.
