Job Duties:
- Management of Finance Department:
- Line manage a team of 4 finance staff, ensuring robust and controlled processes.
- Develop team members through on-the-job training and external programs, focusing on both finance and soft skills.
- Accounting, Reporting, and Control:
- Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring clean sub-ledgers and accurate general ledger close by WD3.
- Approve changes to the BU payroll and manage the submission of actuals and forecast data to Division and Group.
- Prepare monthly management reporting, including variance commentary, for review by the Finance Director.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and manage VAT and CIS returns.
- Oversee the preparation of annual statutory accounts and tax packs.
- Liaise with external auditors and manage the delivery of required information.
- Forecasts and Budgets:
- Prepare forecasts and projections, including 2-year profit and cashflow forecasts and forward land bank profit projection.
- Develop biannual detailed business plans/forecasts with support from the Finance Director.
- Model site financial performance and integrate data across systems
- Present key budget outputs to non-financial audiences and monitor post-plan performance.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Deputise for the Finance Director, attending meetings on their behalf.
- Support and challenge managers/directors from other functions to ensure the business delivers shareholder value.
- Visit active sites in the region biannually and respond to data and analysis requests from across the Division and Group.

Ideal Experience:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Prior experience as a financial accountant or external auditor and management accountant
- Proven staff management experience with a focus on development
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
- Previous industry experience
